The Rundown: The crew fights an army of parasitic aliens and Sela faces her past.
The crew of the Defiant continues to fight off a rampaging group of parasitic aliens that the Enterprise crew encountered years ago. As they find themselves in a fire fight across a Starbase, Nymira deals with the ghosts of her past. Ghosts that will challenge her as a healer. At the same time, one of the crew becomes infected as they debate whether to kill the infected or help them.
At the same time, Sela makes her way towards Federation space and is violently intercepted by her father. After a tense conversation between the pair, Sela is offered the opportunity to fix her damaged reputation with the empire.
The Story: Cantwell delivers great action, thrills and horror throughout the issue. There is a wonderful level of suspense in the story and the growing threat and its moral implications for the crew invested me in this story. I really like the conflict both external and internal with Sela and her compelling story is a wonderful contrast to the dark one affecting the crew.
The Art: Unzueta delivers beautiful art in the issue. The action is as visually thrilling as the story. A wonderfully detailed and visually engaging story.
