The Rundown: The Defiant crew takes on a dangerous mission that will continue to test their loyalty to Starfleet and their own ethics.
Nymira uses her underworld connections to infiltrate the location Benny the Munch is utilizing. After discovering that he is about to attend an illegal fight tournament, she returns to the Defiant to tell the crew and they decide to enter Worf in the tournament to get close to their quarry.
After Worf receives some disturbing orders from Starfleet Command, he continues on his mission but he and the rest of the crew continue to question not only their current status, but how far they are willing to go to be reinstated.
The Story: Cantwell offers a fantastic story in this issue and one of the best elements of it is the crew confronting the ethics of their orders, especially Worf. The arc has done a lot of damage to the character’s sense of honor and his internal conflict creates some great drama for all the characters. I love looking at the moral gray areas of Starfleet and this story delivers it as well as some fun and inventive action.
The Art: Feehan offers some great art in the issue. The story has some fantastic action and adventurous visuals throughout.
