The Rundown: Sisko will come up with a plan to return to the Prophets and reclaim a dying universe.

After losing both the universe and his family, Sisko finds himself on an ancient Bajor with a plan to return to the celestial temple. A plan that will require moving the culture of the planet forward in drastic ways. Ways that will require him to not only make sacrifices, but also hard choices that will compromise many of his long-held beliefs.

After a thousand years, Sisko has completed his grand work and takes off into the sky to reach the wormhole. After making his way to the prophets, he learns the truth of his destiny and decides that it is time to make a new one. One that will take on the universe being crafted by Lore and inspiring a familiar face to do it.

The Story: Kelly and Lanzing take Sisko to some dark and interesting places while evolving his story and showcasing many of the things that I loved about Deep Space Nine. It challenges Sisko in ways that force him to compromise aspects of himself for the greater good and even takes him to some places I wasn’t expecting when he finally confronts his mother and the Prophets. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the wake of Sisko’s new mission.

The Art: Fowler delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. The visuals are stylish and feel outside of the style of the rest of the series, which is exactly what it should do by giving the story an ethereal feel.
