The Rundown: The crew of the Theseus gets help from the crew of the USS Enterprise to stop a destructive wave from destroying the universe.
The Theseus arrives in an alternate timeline and finds themselves facing off against the Enterprise under the command of James T. Kirk. Unfortunately, this Kirk is not one they recognize and this one knows the ship is coming based on information from the recently passed Ambassador Spock.
As the two crews finally meet and exchange information, Sisko reveals the truth about what their universe is facing and Kirk finds himself at the head of an armada as the destructive wave produced by Lore heads their way. As the Starfleet ships prepare to face the unknown, they might already be too late to stop the destruction of another universe.
The Story: Kelly and Lanzing throw an interesting and entertaining series of twists in this issue and they were all incredibly fun. I like seeing the Kelvin timeline acknowledged and included in a way that makes sense to the overall lore of Star Trek. This story allows for those characters to interact in new and intriguing ways that honor the history of Star Trek and all of its iterations. The story has some great action in it and ends with a fantastic cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Angel Hernandez delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. I like the visuals a lot and there are some great nods to the changes in visual aesthetic between these universes.
