The Rundown: The Theseus and her crew face an old enemy as they fight for a way home.
The Theseus has found itself and its crew in the middle of fluidic space and Tom Paris has a warning for Sisko and the rest of the crew regarding the denizens of this dimension, species 8472. A warning that will lead to a dangerous second contact as the ship is invaded by the creatures.
While Paris and the others fight to find a way to remove the creatures from the ship and make their way out of fluidic space, T’Lir will discover that there is something else at the heart of the attack. Something directly linked to the havoc Lore has been creating in their universe. A havoc that will find the Theseus being confronted by some familiar faces.
The Story: I really enjoyed the tension throughout this issue. There are some great moments for Pairs and the rest of the crew as they brilliantly convey everything that I love about Star Trek and the Federation including working together to find unexpected solutions against impossible odds. The story has some great action throughout and everything builds to a great cliffhanger ending and a reveal that has me excited to see what happens in the next issue.
The Art: Kangas delivers some beautiful art in the issue. I love the look of fluidic space and how the characters are designed. The visuals do an amazing job of capturing the harrowing chase of the story.
