The Rundown: Benjamin Sisko returns and takes a new crew on a dangerous mission.
Three years after the end of the Dominion War, Captain Benjamin Sisko is returned to Deep Space Nine by the Prophets. After spending time with his son Jake, Ben meets with Picard in order to secure a ship for a potentially dangerous mission. A mission that will require a new ship and an interesting crew filled with familiar faces.
Sisko and the crew of the USS Theseus set out to a nebula that Sisko believes the Prophets want him to investigate. There they discover something dangerous and a threat that could potentially destroy some of the most powerful beings in the universe.
The Story: I was blown away with this first issue. As a Star Trek fan, I love seeing the characters come together in this unique and intriguing story that embodies everything that Trek stands for in the sense of exploration and big ideas. I am excited to see where this story goes and Kelly and Lanzing have crafted an issue that checks all the boxes for fans of the Star Trek universe.
The Art: Rosanas beautifully captures the characters, technology and aesthetic with the visuals in this issue. There are some awesome moments throughout that can only be brought to life visually and I loved seeing them on the page.
