The Rundown: Space Ghost takes on a foe with a direct link to his tragic past.

More of the tragedy that shaped Space Ghost is revealed as he and the team find themselves facing off against mechanized drones connected to someone from the hero’s past. Someone that Space Ghost will stop at nothing to defeat and could cost him everything as he rushes into danger with backup and winds up getting teleported away during the encounter.

While Jan and Jace use one of the drones to find Space Ghost, the bot shows them where he is and that he is facing a foe that is seemingly stronger and faster than he ever has as General Metallus prepares to use stolen technology to lay waste to the galaxy and there is no one that can stop him.

The Story: Pepose fires on all cylinders with a story that begin in tragedy and ends with potentially more as Space Ghost faces someone whose power rivals his own. The story is deeply personal for the character and that adds to the rising tension throughout. There is a suspense throughout this issue as every moment is heightened by the interpersonal conflict and drama. I found myself thrilled with every moment as things take some dark twists and turns to a cliffhanger that has me excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Lau pulls out all the stops with the art in this issue. The imagery perfectly captures the thrills and suspense the story creates and the tension of the Metallus/Space Ghost fight was visually stunning.
