The makers of the Sonic the Hedgehog live action movie have taken a cue from the outpouring of negativity surrounding the release of the first trailer of the film and are going back to the drawing board.
According to Sonic director Jeff Fowler;
Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast 🔧✌️

Due to the backlash, the production has pulled the film from its original November 2019 release date and pushed it back to February of next year in order to complete the re-design of the character. In another tweet from the director, a new release date was announced.
