The Rundown: The sheriff wants answers about the creatures stalking his town and Erica might be too late to stop them from taking another victim.
James finally wakes up and is greeted by the sheriff who wants to know what the young man knows about the monsters stalking his town. When he discovers that Tommy Mahoney can see the monsters too, he goes hunting for the young man.
Erica and Aaron have returned to the police station to pick up the only survivor Bian. When Tom arrives with a gun pointed at the two, things only get more intense. Erica will have to make a series of quick decisions if she is going to salvage the situation and the decision she makes will make her job harder. When Tommy sees something in the woods outside the school, he goes to investigate and makes a deadly discovery.
The Story: James Tynion IV ramps up the tension and human drama in this issue. Erica’s dilemma adds some great emotional moments throughout the issue and the story is a fantastic read. The dialogue is engaging. The characters are layered and interesting and the mystery is suspenseful. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Dell’edera frames the panels brilliantly. The suspense of the plot is reflected in the composition of the panels and how they progress the story. A visually stunning issue.
