The Rundown: Erica faces something dangerous and personal.

Erica finds herself attempting to communicate something she has never had to before, her feelings and emotions. She’s in a therapist’s office and she wants answers. Not because she’s looking for information about a monster, but because she wants to understand why she cannot stop crying.

As she talks to the therapist and keeps aspects of the truth close to the chest, he manages to get her to see some things about herself and her past that could possibly help her move past the worst of her personal trauma.

The Story: I really enjoyed this story and how Tynion IV crafts an introspective story for Erica in this issue. Here are great moments for the character and the ability to slow down the action as Erica is confronted with the one thing she truly fears to face, her feelings. I love getting to know Erica as a person and not just a force of nature and this issue gave me some great perspective on a character who has more layers than she is willing to admit to herself.

The Art: Dell’Edera crafts some beautiful art in the issue. The back and forth between Erica and the therapist allows for some great dramatic moments filled with visual tension.
