The Rundown: Erica needs to escape from a dangerous situation and the House of Slaughter deals with the death of one of their own.
One of the town deputies was lucky to not be in the department when Cutter went on her killing spree. When he returns and finds the slaughter all around him, he is confronted by Erica who tells him the truth and to be careful of Cutter. A warning she hopes he heeds before she and the others escape.
At the same time, the House comes together to mourn the loss of Gary and Cecilia has an interesting conversation. A conversation that will prompt her to take direct action as she heads to New Mexico.
The Story: A thrilling story from start to finish. Erica is put into a new position in this issue and James Tynion IV delivers some great moments for the character throughout the issue. I love the slow, deliberate progression of this issue and how the tension rises throughout it. The B story with the House of Slaughter is great and adds more drama and tension to the events. I’m excited to see what happens next in this arc.
The Art: Dell’Edera delivers some great imagery throughout the issue and brilliantly illustrates the tension and tone of the story.
