The Rundown: Erica faces the brood and the aftermath will leave no one untouched.
Erica faces off against the murderous monsters and in a feat of almost unimaginable skill, manages to end the threat to the town. Unfortunately, the monsters are not the only threat. After calling the order and telling them what happened, she is exhausted and Cecilia begins the process of moving her forces out of the town. A task that will require not only that people keep quiet about what happened, but also a scapegoat to take the blame for the murders.
In the aftermath, the town finds itself burying secrets deep and Erica has a decision to make about her future with the Order and the House of Slaughter. After meeting with a man of consequence to her decision, she makes her decision, but she won’t be going alone.
The Story: James Tynion IV does an amazing job bringing this story to a conclusion. There is no long drawn out fight. It is ended and the aftermath is about what the story has been about; the people. Seeing how they process the events and their repercussions is a great way to bring emotion to the story and I was both impressed and excited to see how events played out and they could mean for future stories.
The Art: Werther Dell’edera brilliantly matches the mood and tone of the story with the art. Every scene builds on the emotion of the moment and comes through with great details and emotion from the characters.
