The Rundown: A little girl finds herself being interviewed by a mysterious man about Erica Slaughter.

A little girl recovering from life threatening injuries finds herself at a roadside stand with a mysterious man who wants to know about her recent encounter with Erica Slaughter and what secrets she revealed. The girl reluctantly tells him about the monster that attacked her and how she ended with Erica in the woods waiting for it to come back.

As she continues to tell her story, she becomes uneasy with the man and his questions and things get worse when he reveals that he is there for another purpose. A purpose that is specific for Erica and one that might be more dangerous than any monster she’s faced.

The Story: James Tynion IV crafts an entertaining story in this issue. I love this story and where it takes place on the timeline. There is an expansion of the world of this story and a background story with Erica that intrigues me. I like this deep dive into the plots springing up around her and look forward to seeing what happens because of them.

The Art: Werther Dell’Edera delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visuals and the action immensely. A brilliantly illustrated issue.
