The CW’s slate of DC Comics shows are getting ready to come back to the network this month and with those returns comes a new series ready to join the growing lineup, Black Lightning.
Not only is Black Lightning going to debut along with the other show, but a new villain has been added to the cast of the series and she has roots in the comics themselves.
Actress and Grammy award-winning singer Jill Scott has been cast on the series Black Lightning in the recurring role of comic book villain Lady Eve. Scott will join Cress Williams (Black Lightning) and Tobias Whale (Marvin “Krondon” Jones III) in the role as a bridge between Whale’s criminal enterprise and a secret shadown organization pulling the strings. Lady Eve is a member of the Kobra Cult in the comics and frequently had run ins with Batman and the Outsiders, of which Black Lightning is a member.
Black Lightning premieres on the CW soon.
