The Rundown: Quicksilver gets used to his new powers while a struggling musician finds himself in the middle of a dangerous situation.

A musician named Boone and his partner Melodia find themselves playing the stage at the Starship Casino. After seeing Mon’Star talking with the casino owner, the former cop must decide if it’s worth exposing where the gangster is hiding. After making his decision, he finds himself betrayed by Melodia and must fight for his life in order to escape the casino and warn others.

Back at Hawk Haven, Stargazer is called when Quicksilver awakens before he was expected to and goes crashing through the facility looking for an escape. After confronting him with the truth of what he’s become, Stargazer gives Quicksilver the opportunity to train in order to be strong enough to take on Mon’Star and his forces.

The Story: Brisson crafts an entertaining follow up to the first issue with a story filled with mystery and betrayal. I enjoyed seeing Bluegrass have a connection to Melodia and how that connection drives him to his ultimate decision. I liked how the story moves from Boone’s storyline to Quicksilver’s easily while connecting them in ways that make me intrigued to see how this story evolves.

The Art: Kambadais delivers great art throughout the story. I love the visual style of the issue and the character designs are brilliantly done.
