The Rundown: Cindy meets with a dangerous foe while Saya has a confrontation with an unusual employee.
Cindy has a conversation with Silvermane that leads to some interesting reveals. Saya’s complicated backstory is then explained. Afterwards, Silvermane makes a surprising move that leaves Cindy extremely concerned. Meanwhile, Saya confronts Kasha and their followers regarding a dangerous development. A deadly exchange then ensues. Later, Saya seeks help from an unexpected source.
The Story: Maureen Goo does an excellent job in this exciting chapter. Saya’s history is extremely compelling. And her current motivations are very humanizing. This is a character that could easily float between hero and villain depending upon the circumstances. And her dynamics with Silk certainly make for enjoyable content. I look forward to seeing how this current plot develops.
The Art: This is a good looking issue with color work that changes with the time period. The flash back scenes have a blue tone that gives them a dreamlike quality. And the present is filled with bold and vibrant colors that are quite engaging. I found the artwork in this edition to be very transportive.
