The Rundown: The Order is trapped behind the walls of their own fortress with the Seekers beating down their door and all the secrets in the same location.
With the wolves at the gate, not only does Caspar and the rest of the Order know that it will not hold, but they are aware that they have no other means of escape. To make matters worse, the fact that only a handful of people knew about their plan makes everyone a suspect in who gave them up to Amon. With few choices left, the Order decides to make a stand at the fortress and fight as the Holders stay back and watch.
As Caspar and the other Holders watch, the Order springs into battle, but the battle does not go their way and there are some significant losses. When the survivors regroup, they are forced to flee deeper as one of the secrets is taken. With one secret gone, the survivors are forced to open one of the other secrets in order to escape. But where they end up might be more dangerous then where they came from.
The Story: Tom Taylor takes the characters and the reader into some bizarre and wonderfully interesting new territory with this issue. Not only does everything change in regards to the secrets and their meaning, but the story gets richer with the introduction of new elements that add context and mystery to the plot. Besides being an incredibly fun, action packed read, the story continues to reveal interesting and engaging elements about the characters.
The Art: Daniele Di Nicuolo delivers some stunning art in this issue. Not only are the visuals full of energy and detail, but the highly stylized art is engrossing. Every page catches the eye.
