The Rundown: More secrets are revealed as Caspar finds his first day as a Holder full of surprises.
The attack on the Venice base puts everyone on alert as Caspar and his fellow initiates are drafted into their first fight. With chaos all around them, Caspar is pulled from the fight and told to run as the survivors take the fight to the invaders. As they make their way through the base, Caspar will be surprised by some unexpected help.
As the battle continues, Caspar will come face to face with Amon. When more secrets and revelations are made, Caspar will discover that this is but one of a series of coordinated attacks on bases all over the world. What he won’t realize until later is that the Order is more crafty than he thought and not easily surprised.
The Story: Tom Taylor keeps the fast paced, action filled adrenaline rush of the first three issues going with this one as the story moves from one surprise moment to the next. The dialogue is fantastic and the characters jump off the page with how engaging and interesting they are. I can’t wait to see where this story goes next and what twists and turns that it will take.
The Art: Daniele Di Nicuolo delivers some beautifully stylized imagery to this issue. There is a beautiful and brilliant melding of manga style art and it perfectly captures the energy and tone of the story.
