The Rundown: A god returns and the final secrets are revealed.
Caspar’s death allows for the return of the god that trapped the demon in the first place. As it looks over what has happened, it turns to Caspar’s parents and wants to know why he wasn’t prepared for what happened. After explaining their reasoning, the entity reveals the circumstances that caused it to leave the Earth and create the seven secrets.
After discovering the truth, the entity decides to pay a visit to Canto and enlist his help to stop the demon. But first, he will need the first secret. The entity confronts Amon and the Demon and decides to change how it approaches their next encounter. A change that will affect everyone and create a new future for the keepers of the secrets.
The Story: Taylor brings this story to a brilliantly compelling and entertaining conclusion with this issue. The story does a brilliant job of incorporating all of the story elements and moments leading up to the conclusion and making those moments engaging. I love the reveals throughout the story and how they move the story forward as well as the evolution of the character and how Caspar’s experiences inform the final resolution. A wonderful, compelling story in a world I would love to revisit.
The Art: Di Nicuolo delivers some beautifully atmospheric and stylized art in this finale. The action is gorgeous to behold and the final showdown is beautifully composed.
