The Rundown: More betrayal awaits the remaining secrets and Caspar discovers something dangerous.
Caspar finds his dreams becoming darker and more disturbing as he waits for his mother to get better. After she finally wakes up, he takes a walk to clear his head, but something happens that forces Eva to forgo her treatment and gather everyone to get moving. At the same time, Canto is treated for his injuries while the others wait for Eva and her group to arrive. Unfortunately, they don’t know about the snake in their midst and what his plans are for Caspar.
When Canto betrays the remaining members of the order, Amon moves in to take the rest of the secrets. Caspar and the others arrive on the scene as Amon and his group attempt to escape. Using his newfound powers, Caspar leaps into action to try to stop the escape, but Amon unlocks another secret. One meant specifically for Caspar.
The Story: Taylor delivers some great action, intrigue and suspense in this issue. Everything with Caspar and his role in events continues to build and keep me engaged as a reader. Canto’s return to the Order was filled with great suspense and what happened after was both exciting, thrilling and intense. I continue to be awed by the scope, scale and wonder of this series and the world Taylor is creating.
The Art: Daniele Di Nicuolo crafts some beautiful and dynamic visuals on every page of this issue. The art is beautifully done, compelling and visually stunning.
