The Rundown: Amon discovers a dark prophecy with Caspar right at the center of it.
In Switzerland, Amon and his group have opened the secret and discovered a prophecy involving three possible futures. After learning about them, Amon makes the decision that not only do they need to steal the rest of the secrets, but that Caspar must die. As he tries to enlist the help of others, Amon learns of the attack on his headquarters. At the same time, Caspar and the others rush to save Eva after she is shot during the attack.
On board the Queen’s plane Caspar learns another secret about the monarch and her connection to the Order of the Seven. As his mother recovers, Caspar decides that he wants some answers about who they are fighting and what he is becoming. After not getting the reaction he wanted, Caspar decides to get some perspective. At the same time, Amon puts his plan into action with the added benefit of being able to see the future.
The Story: Taylor continues to craft a beautifully intense and thrilling mystery in this series and this issue was compelling on several levels. The story continues to be fun, inventive and entertaining while the characters and their complex relationships continue to be engaging. I love how broad and different this world is and how the story changes and evolves without losing its heart or character focus.
The Art: Daniele Di Nicuolo delivers some beautiful visuals throughout the issue. There are some great moments of visual beauty throughout the panels and the imagery is filled with gorgeous detail and style.
