Scarlett Johansson’s next payday from Marvel Studios will finally put her on somewhat even footing with her male co-stars.
Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow has been a mainstay of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man 2 back in 2010. She’s played the character in 6 additional films including this year’s Avengers Infinity War and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is going to finally start getting the financial recognition that her contributions deserve.
Johansson will receive $15 million dollars for her role as Black Widow in the recently announced standalone film for Marvel Studios. This puts her on par with both Chris Evans (Captain America) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) in what they made for their appearances in Avengers Infinity War as well as Captain America: Civil War and Thor: Ragnarok. This is also, how much both actors will be getting for their roles in Avengers 4.
Even though this isn’t close to the $50 million dollar deal Robert Downey Jr made for his involvement in the MCU, it is a step in the right direction.
