The Rundown: Malcolm takes on a new and dangerous enemy.
With most of his team down after their last mission, Malcolm throws himself into work bringing down multiple bad guys across the city. After foiling a kidnapping attempt, the Savage Dragon returns to his team and his home to find a moment of peace with his family.
After securing a date night with his wife, Malcolm and Maxine find themselves ambushed and Malcolm captured by a new enemy who has grown tired of the hero standing in the way of his business and intends to do something about it.
The Story: Larsen packs this issue with intense and entertaining action throughout and a story filled with humor and thrills. I continue to enjoy how delightfully absurd and engaging everything in Malcolm’s world continues to become and the story has some great action beats that lead to an entertaining team up with Malcolm and his family. I enjoyed the sequences with Frank in the body of Mr. Glum as well and Larsen manages to make this side story as compelling as the main one.
The Art: Larsen delivers beautifully detailed and visually impressive art throughout the issue. I love the mixture of visual styles and how they blend with each other.
