The Rundown: Malcolm deals with the aftermath of losing a friend while Mako continues to hunt in the city.
In the aftermath of a tragedy, Malcolm deals with the loss of a friend and the fact that his blood was unable to save her. At the same time, Mako continues to hunt people through the streets and beaches. After having a talk with Angel, Malcolm decides to go to the funeral where he is offered the chance to return to the states and lead his own team of heroes.
After getting the kids together and deciding to spend a day at the beach, the kids wander off to make new friends before Mako attacks. An attack that will result in more tragedy, one of Malcolm’s kids going missing and an unexpected visitor.
The Story: Larsen delivers some action packed thrills throughout the story with great moments of suspense and humor. I love all of the complications Malcolm is dealing with both personally and professionally and how the children are becoming more interesting, fleshed out characters as well. The Mako storyline has some great horror elements and I cannot wait to see where story goes next.
The Art: Larsen delivers some beautiful, gory and often titalating art throughout the issue. The visuals perfectly complement the tone of the story and its characters.
