The Rundown: Malcolm takes on the Vicious Circle as Paul finds connecting with familiar faces difficult.
The Vicious Circle continues to gather in Canada and prepare their next move as heroes who go up against them find themselves overwhelmed. Dart finds herself in an awkward position with Rogue Warrior when he makes an interesting discovery. As he confronts Dart about how much more powerful he is, she teaches him a harsh lesson in what power actually means.
When the Vicious Circle takes to the streets, Malcolm is called from his domestic bliss to help out, but soon finds himself being overpowered by Dart and her team. At the same time Paul Dragon tries to connect with people he knows and finds the merging of the dimensions to have some unintended consequences.
The Story: Larsen continues to complicate the lives of his characters in new and interesting ways. The plot unfolds well and I enjoyed the contrast between Malcolm’s home life and the intensity of the confrontation with the Vicious Circle. There are some great character moments throughout and some mysteries that are worth exploring. Above everything else, the issue is character focused and that makes it more engaging.
The Art: The issue looks great visually. Larsen not only makes small moments look amazing, but action is amplified, visceral and brilliantly detailed.
