The Rundown: Malcolm finds himself alone taking on the Vicious Circle, but a domestic dispute might be more dangerous.
Amy Dragon is having a hard time sleeping and that is due to the six foot tiger rummaging through the family’s trash at night. When she confronts him, she decides to do something besides fight, she invites him to her Birthday party. The next day, Malcolm finds himself fighting a score of Vicious Circle members alone and when the fight doesn’t go as planned, he realizes that he needs help if he’s going to defend Canada.
As both Angel and Dragon deal with their own issues, Maxine decides to let her mother have it with both barrels for her recent, very public actions with Kevin. As the tension builds within the family, Malcolm returns to find an unwanted guest in his home.
The Story: Erik Larsen always does an excellent job of showcasing both the dangers facing Malcolm Dragon and the domestic perils he faces as well. Both are done with humor and heart and that makes them worth reading. This issue has some fun, tense and action packed moments throughout, but Larsen also finds a way to weave in some personal journeys for a couple of the characters. A good read for fans of the characters and this world.
The Art: Larsen offers some great art in the issue as well. The action looks great, especially the Vicious Circle fight. The domestic moments look great as well.
