The Rundown:
In the midst of Malcolm and Maxine’s marital issues, the need for the Dragon kids to have food to eat and a roof over their heads takes precedent.
Walden Wang has an idea. One that will net he and the Dragon’s a nice chunk of change if he can pull it off. A pay per view event featuring Malcolm Dragon taking on the super powered Powerhouse in an ultimate fighting style match.
With hero work not exactly being a lucrative career, the two agree and meet up in an abandoned warehouse to have a knock down drag out fight for the cameras. It’s a pitched battle between the two heroes until an unexpected discovery tilts the balance to one of the fighters.
The Story:
I like where Larsen is going with this issue. I especially like the fact that he addresses some pressing problems head on in the narrative and manages to mix in some effective humor as well. The action is great and I continue to be entertained by the characters and their conflicts.
The Art:
Erik Larsen’s art is amazing and there are so many great panels throughout. I enjoyed the layout of this issue immensely.
