The Rundown: Doctors Doom and Strange will travel with Conan to confront Kulan Gath.
With the newest Eye of Agamotto as the bargaining chip, Doctor Doom decides to try his own form of diplomacy to get the item from a suspicious Conan the Barbarian. Instead of force, Doom convinces the Cimmerian to sit down to a meal and discuss what it will cost to get the amulet he carries.
At the same time, Doctor Strange wants to know more about the amulet and what its connection to Kulan Gath is. He travels to Latveria and attermpts to convince both men to let him have the amulet to study. When Strange decides to bring the three of them to Gath’s lair, they will find that the sorcerer has some deadly tricks up his sleeve.
The Story: I really enjoyed this issue and Duggan does an amazing job of bringing all these characters together in a story that showcases the best of who they are. There are so many fun, entertaining moments throughout and I reallly enjoyed the tone of this issue and the moments of humor. Some of the best moments in the issue are the reactions Strange and Doom have to witnessing Conan in action. I can’t wait to see where this story goes next.
The Art: Patch Zircher’s art is beautiful. His renditions of Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom are gorgeously detailed. His interpretation of Conan looks fantastic and all of the panels are filled with amazing details. An awesome looking issue.
