Recently it was announced that Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds would be providing the voice of the lead character Pikachu in the live action Detective Pikachu movie.

In addition to the announcement that Reynolds would be taking on the role, the studio also let potential audiences know when they can catch Detective Pikachu in theaters.  Detective Pikachu stars Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu, Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies). Universal has brought in Goosebumps director Rob Letterman to direct with production beginning in London in January.

Detective Pikachu will find its way into theaters May 10, 2019.
