The Rundown: The murderer of Marcus Bell is revealed and it will lead to an awkward family reunion.
The story begins in the recent past with the birth of Dylan to his parents who are very much in love. Then things shift to the moment Marcus returns home after being gone for months and ends his marriage, shattering his wife. In the present, Dylan finds out who killed his father. A revelation that will lead to some devastating truths.
While Dylan learns the truth about what happened to his father, Demonika makes her move only to be interrupted by the murderer who has some choice words for the demon. After taking dark and final action, Marcus’ killer reveals what they came for and how they will take it if Dylan doesn’t give it up first.
The Story: Parrott goes straight for the emotional throat in this issue with a reveal that I did not see coming, but makes for some compelling interpersonal drama. The story does a great job of drawing in the reader with the flashbacks and using them to flesh out the conflict and its implications for Dylan, I’m excited to see what gets revealed next and what it means for the character going forward.
The Art: Abel and Ragazzoni deliver some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The art styles brilliantly complement each other as the story unfolds with vibrant imagery and action.
