The Rundown: Gambit and Rogue find their romantic vacation interrupted by Destiny.
A vacation away from the drama of Krakoa brings Rogue and Gambit into a different kind of drama when Rogue finds herself defending her husband against a band of killers. The next morning, they find themselves interrupted by Destiny who has a mission for Rogue. A mission that involved securing a fellow mutant named Manifold.
After trying to recruit Manifold, the pair decide to help him on his latest mission to locate a series of missing villains including Deathstrike. After tracking her down, they discover a new threat. One that can nullify their powers.
The Story: Phillips crafts a fun, funny and thrilling story in this first issue. The conflicts between the characters are interesting and I love the rivalry between Destiny and Gambit. The story is filled with great action and an interesting premise made more interesting with the introduction of the villains. I look forward to seeing where this story goes.
The Art: Gomez delivers some stunning art in the issue. The visual style is fantastic I love the detailed, stylish look of both the action and the world of the characters.
