Timala ElliottThe first trailer for the long awaited RPG, Grand Theft Auto 6, has finally arrived! Within the first 36 hours, the official spot has received +97M views on Rockstar Games’ YouTube channel.
Arriving on gaming platforms in 2025, GTA returns to Vice City with an entirely new cast featuring lead character Lucia. This will mark this series’ first protagonist with a woman’s perspective.
The 1 minute 30 second trailer features Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” as its soundtrack. It then begins in a prison and features Lucia speaking with a staff member. Afterwards, it cuts to a stunning montage of high quality scenes from the game including numerous locales and distinctive game characteristics such as what appears to be a social media option.
While there is minimal plot shown, a Bonnie and Clyde type storyline is teased with scenes of Lucia’s interactions with an unknown ally. Also, a wide range of social situations such as street and rooftop parties set the stage for potential adventures in the over the top, indulgent virtual world.
As per GTA’s modus operandi, Vice City’s fictional universe is a mirror of Miami, Florida, and features fictional depictions of real life activities such as scenes reminiscent of the various adventures of the ever popular trope of “Florida Man.” The visuals are stunning and a massive upgrade from the previous iteration. Fans of the game are in for a treat!
