The Rundown: The Robins face off against enhanced villains and betrayal threatens to tear them apart.
The Robins find themselves facing off against a group of junior level villains given some powerful upgrades to match the villains they idolized. With the lives of hostages connected to the heroes on the line, the heroes go into battle. With the hostages being connected to each Robins first solo mission, the need to rescue them increases. As they look for a new tactic to take down their enemies, Tim discovers that a trap has been tripped giving them less time to act.
With time running out, one of the Robins reveals something that will put him at odds with the rest. Something that will prompt Dick to confront Bruce about what it actually means to be a Robin. Later that night, the brains behind the attack reveals herself, her next prisoner and her connection to both Batman and Robin.
The Story: Seeley delivers a solid adventure throughout this issue. There is a great, tension filled tone to the story that culminates in some great reveals, an awesome character twist and a twist ending I didn’t expect and was pleasantly surprised by. I loved the interaction between Dick and Bruce and the raw emotion of it. I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.
The Art: Rivas delivers some great action filled moments throughout the issue. The style of the art definitely matches the tone of the story and the intensity of the character interactions.
