Marvel Studios wrecked us all emotionally with the gripping and monumental release of Avengers Endgame. We witnessed the final heroic deeds of Tony Stark and the sacrifice of Natasha Romanoff to save the universe.
Next summer, Scarlett Johansson will return as Romanoff aka the Black Widow with her own solo film and it looks like she won’t be the only MCU alum showing up on the screen. According to Deadline’s coverage of the recent Saturn Awards, Robert Downey Jr. will suit up as Tony Stark one last time in the upcoming Black Widow movie.
The Black Widow film is confirmed to take place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers Infinity War so Stark will be alive and well and not too happy with the former ally and Avenger after she chooses Team Cap towards the end. It will be interesting to see in what capacity Stark’s role in the film will be, but I doubt it will be that big considering how small the announcement of Downey’s involvement has been.
Black Widow is scheduled to be released May of 2020.
