The Rundown: An FBI agent and a local detective team up to solve a grisly, yet familiar murder in London.

In the year 2188, London has become a theme park after a series of losses that put the country at risk. In order to remain relevant, the country reverts back to the Victorian Era and becomes a vacation spot for people from around the world. When the son of a rich American winds up gutted in the street one night, Detective Edwin Fogg is assigned the case.

Back in the United States, FBI agent Jesse Holden is assigned the case by his superiors and because of the high profile nature of it, he has to leave right away to begin his investigation in a London without technology or any of the modern tools he needs to solve the crime as he and Fogg get to work looking for a killer with a familiar modus operandi.

The Story: Steve Orlando and John Harris Dunning create an interesting and engaging premise with this first issue. I really love the concept of this series and what’s being teased within it. The characters are interesting and their dynamic is interesting as well. The story has some great world building throughout it and everything in this first issue makes me intrigued to see how this story develops.

The Art: Oliveri delivers some interesting, vibrant and beautifully detailed imagery throughout the issue and there is a visual style to it that drew me in.
