The Rundown: Secrets are revealed as the hunt for the axe takes an unexpected turn.
In the aftermath of the encounter on the road, one of the bikers begins a harrowing journey to return to his boss. A journey made more difficult since he’s literally just a talking head. A couple of miles away, the new chief of police decides to pay a visit to Arlene and Calvin. After discovering something that puts him on edge, the pair reveal who they really are. When the corrupt cop tries to kill them, he becomes the latest addition to their growing collection.
Across the island, June is brought before the biker gang’s leader Erika Furie who wants to know what she did with the axe. After revealing that the axe is not the only artifact with powers, one of her men returns with news. News that will get the gang on the road and headed to Arlene and Calvin’s place.
The Story: Youers crafts an entertaining story in this issue. There is a lot more humor in the plot than previous issues and it could be distracting at times, but it works for the story itself. The reveals were interesting and help move the story along. The plot itself felt a little weak though and I spent a lot of it waiting for it to end so that something more interesting could happen.
The Art: Fowler delivers some great art throughout the issue. The characters are dynamic and well detailed and the action is thrilling.
