The Rundown: More mysterious people want answers about what happened on the island as Cal and Arlene find themselves facing off against a ruthless gang.
June has a run in with a couple of guys who want answers about what happened on the island a year ago. When she repeats her story and storms off, the pair reveal that their boss is going to want answers. Answers that will require them to take June. A day later on the island, Cal and Arlene find themselves being chased by members of a bike gang as they wonder what to do with the axe they found and the severed shark head that refuses to die.
After being run off the road, the pair are attacked and use the axe to protect themselves. An act that results in three more talking heads to heave to deal with. As one of the heads tries to make its way back to their leader, Arlene decides to use the other two to get some answers about the axe and what they want with it. The pair also reveal that there are other artifacts that have gone missing as well. At the same time, June finds herself being taken back to Brody Island.
The Story: Youers continues to craft a fun and inventive story in this issue. The plot moves faster and bringing June back into the story is a great touch. I like seeing that she’s evolved as a character. I also really enjoy the complex mystery in this issue. I want to know who Cal and Arlene are really and everyone seems to have secrets that I am interested in seeing uncovered.
The Art: Fowler delivers some awesome art in the issue. The style is perfect for the type of story being told and the brutality of some moments are given great imagery.
