The Rundown: The party finds itself in the middle of a brutal winter storm and with few provisions, the fragile bonds holding this team together continue to fray. As they learn more about each other and the mission they find themselves on, the young skin eater tells them that they need to stop and make camp before they find themselves in enemy territory in the middle of the night.
When they awake the next morning, they find that they are not alone and the surrounding army bearing down on them is going to be hard to beat. It’s going to take some dark magic from Marris to give them a fighting chance to survive.
The Story: Justin Jordan has created an interesting group of characters in this series and this issue allows for their unique personalities to come through. The story is moving at a great pace and there is a lot of atmosphere in the world itself. I continue to be curious about where this tale is going and how these characters grow and evolve.
The Art: Rebekah Isaacs has created some beautiful art in this issue. All of the characters and the action look amazing. The backgrounds and how the weather and world are depicted are immersive and fun.
