The Rundown: Radio Spaceman attempts a dangerous rescue as dark forces rage across an alien world.
Radio Spacemen fights a horde of aliens in a hidden temple on the planet of Numa 4. At stake is the life of brilliant space archeologist Dr. Azee who is trying to keep a mad cultist from killing her and releasing a terrible creature. After reaching her just in time, the pair find themselves facing the creature whose presence invites more monsters to attack.
On the run with time running out and destruction all around them, Radio Spaceman and Dr. Azee find something else barring their escape. Something in the form of a nine thousand year old resurrected vampire queen. Fortunately for the pair, Dr. Azee has a powerful secret of her own. A secret that might mean the difference between life and death for them both.
The Story: Mignola crafts a ridiculously fun and inventive story in this issue. The tone, dialogue and characters are all fun and filled with adventure. There is some great humor to be found in the story as well and the world of these characters is engaging and intriguing. There is a classic style to this story and I would love to see more adventures within this world.
The Art: Hinkle delivers some fantastic art in this issue. The world being crafted visually is charming and engaging throughout. I love the visual style of the issue and how beautifully realized everything looks.
