The Rundown: Nathan goes looking for answers about his new powers and discovers adventure.
After discovering the mini black hole that gave him superpowers, Nathan returns home the next day to a tense conversation with his father about his future. After the tension dies down, Nathan has a bigger problem when his friend Marshall sells him out to the police and they come knocking. Knowing that the cops want him to work for them, Nathan decides to get some answers about the other superpowered man rampaging across Chicago.
After taking a new job, Nathan gets the information he needs to track down the man. Finding him and trying to learn what’s happened to them proves tricky when the man in red attacks and attempts to escape. After the two fight, Nathan has to make a decision about who and what these new powers are going to make him.
The Story: Higgins continues to craft an entertaining story that feels grounded in both its characters and their conflicts. The dialogue is great and the plot is engaging as well. The characters are compelling and the conflicts keep you invested in the story. I also like the moral tests the character is going through as well.
The Art: Costa delivers some great art throughout the issue. The characters look great and the fight between Nathan and the mystery man is well choreographed. There are some thrilling visual moments and I can’t wait to see more of them.
