The Rundown: Nathan tries to rebuild his life as Marshall’s tactics become darker.
After ignoring the messages from the power behind Radiant Black, Nathan continues to try to rebuild his life. Unfortunately, seeing the news of Marshall’s latest exploits forces him to seek out his friend to find out what is going with him. The two have some intense conversations about what Marshall is doing and how Nathan finds himself in the background.
At the same time, Marshall’s newest enemies are planning how they can take his power until Radiant Black arrives and takes them down in a series of calculated and extremely violent ways. Ways that will continue to drive a wedge between the two friends and might cause Nathan to finally give in to the voice calling him.
The Story: Higgins does a great job of balancing the interpersonal drama with Nathan and Marshall with the dark action. Marshall’s turn to darkness is an interesting and entertaining story point and it is interesting to see how he and Nathan’s relationship is changing as well. The action is really good and the story has some great tension throughout.
The Art: Costa and Ferigato deliver some great action and thrilling visuals in this issue. The actions scenes are beautifully composed and I love the point of view panels and how they are utilized within the story.
