According to a Deadline exclusive, two popular cast members from Abbott Elementary have just been added to the DC Universe. Multiple award winners Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams will lend their voices to the characters of Hawkman and Hawkgirl in an upcoming Harley Quinn Valentine’s Day special.

Although only a brief cameo is planned, I am sure fans of both Harley Quinn and Abbott Elementary will be tuning in for their appearance. Brunson and Williams are known for their electrifying chemistry. Their will they/won’t they arc as Janine and Gregory on the latter show has been the subject of much speculation and fanfic.

In what appears to be a “When Harry Met Sally” type set up, the promo shot of Hawkman and Hawkgirl looks promising for romance and more than a good bit of humor. Both actors have expressed positive feelings for the episode, with Williams stating: “Harley Quinn is such a brilliant series and it is an honor to lend my voice to this special. I think the cameo is something both Abbott Elementary and DC fans will enjoy.”
“Harley Quinn” was recently renewed for a fourth season with incoming showrunner, Sarah Peters. She replaces Abbott Elementary creative partners Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, who, along with Dean Lorey developed the show.
“Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special” premieres February 9th on HBO Max.
