The Rundown: Edison Crane reaches paradise, but his trip is still dangerous.
After their long trek through the mountains with Edison still carrying the injured Ruby, the team led by Koffka finally reaches a mysterious bridge and its guardian. After getting past it, they discover what they were looking for, Shangri-La. They also discover that the person whose account they were following is still alive hundreds of years later and leading the people of the city.
After being welcomed into an advanced utopia, Edison marvels at the sites and environment while Koffka and his partner prepare to take what they came for and they will kill anyone or anything to do it.
The Story: Millar crafts some interesting and unexpected reveals in this issue. The story takes some interesting turns and I continue to enjoy the development of the characters as well as the scope of the story and its world. I love the undercurrent of tension throughout the plot and how well the story comes to its dramatic cliffhanger.
The Art: Buffagni delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. From the breathtaking landscapes to the awesome character designs, the issue is brilliantly illustrated.
