The Rundown: Growing tensions between humanity and mutants forces Magneto to move forward with a bold plan.

The mutants are embarking on their boldest plan yet to protect their species and it will require Magneto to head to the stars. As he ponders his bold plan for the future of mutants, the strain between the humans and mutants continues to grow as mutant factions from Arrako cause trouble and human demands for mutant medicines increase. With all these earthly issues increasing, Erik requires something of the Hellfire Trading Company. Cyclops finds himself at a familiar place after agreeing to meet with Captain America.

After meeting with the Council, Magneto gets the support he needs to continue his plan. A plan that will require him to recruit more mutants to pull off. Magneto and the rest of the mutants make their way to Mars where the work begins to solve a multitude a of potential problems all at once. It’s a bold plan that has zero margin for error. A plan that will change two worlds and give mutants a bigger footprint that is certain to ruffle some feathers.

The Story: This is a brilliant story from start to finish. I love the elements that went into it and how it utilized tension and suspense throughout right up until the scope of the story was revealed. The dialogue is great and Duggan keeps the mystery just far enough out of reach to keep the reader invested. A great story in its execution as well as what it teases for the future of the characters.

The Art: Larraz masterfully illustrates this story with gorgeous details on every page. The art literally creates a new world of dizzying beauty.
