The Rundown: Dom and Birdie discover the truth behind their tragic pasts while Theresa encounters a familiar face.
Theresa continues to deal with her memories from the other place as well as how her father disappeared in front of her. She also remembers the man who saved her and how that man is standing before her in the truck stop. A man who informs her that she isn’t ready to learn more yet.
At the same time, Dom and Birdie have discovered the creature within the egg. A creature that reveals the truth behind what happened to Dom’s son as well as the horrors Birdie endured. A creature that also shows how deadly it can be when the three of them are attacked.
The Story: Lemire ramps up the drama and mystery throughout the issue. I love the character dynamic between Dom and Birdie and the creature they’re protecting creates another great mystery along with the people coming for them. Both sides of the story continue to be compelling and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Walta delivers great art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of the series and this issue has some beautifully dramatic and detailed imagery.
