Happy First Contact Day Trek Fans!
Fan for the Paramount plus series Star Trek Picard have marveled at the return of the Next Generation captain as he took to the stars for a new adventure. This season, Picard and her new crew take a trip to the past to prevent the creation of a dystopian future with Picard going toe to toe with his most powerful nemesis Q.
With Picard getting a third and final season, Paramount Plus has revealed that fans of the character and Star Trek The Next Generation will be seeing something they’ve been waiting for since the series began. According to a press release from Paramount, the original cast of the Next Generation will be joining Patrick Stewart’s Jean Luc Picard for the third and final season.
Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Riker) and Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi) appeared in the first season of the series alongside fellow Next Generation alum Brent Spiner (Lt. Commander Data) playing multiple characters. Spiner has returned for the second season playing an ancestor of Data’s creator Dr. Noonien Soong. LeVar Burton (Commander Geordi LaForge), Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher) and Michael Dorn (Commander Worf) will be reprising their roles as well in the final season.
According to Star Trek: Picard season three showrunner Terry Matalas; “it’s most fitting that the story of Jean-Luc Picard ends honoring the beginning, with his dearest and most loyal friends from the U.S.S. Enterprise. It would be an understatement to say that giving these characters a proper send-off is an honor. The entire Star Trek: Picard team and I can’t wait for fans to experience this final, high-stakes, starship-bound adventure in season three!”
