The Rundown: Duncan and company deal with more family drama as Arthur prepares for what might be his final battle.
Duncan and company find themselves trapped by a sniper. A sniper Bridgette recognizes right away as her wayward daughter Mary. With the fate of Shakespeare’s armory on the line, Gran decides that maybe it’s time to negotiate. At the same time, the giant attacking the castle requires the orderly to head out into the woods to seek help from the fairies to stop it. Unfortunately, his unfamiliarity with the magical world will send him running from the woods and right into the path of the giant. What he doesn’t know is that he’s been given a very specific gift.
Back at the armory, Gran and Mary come to an understanding regarding their separate plans and as Duncan’s group leaves, Mary’s Galahad has a confrontation with his father Lancelot. One that will make his story even more difficult. With Duncan and the others leaving to begin the next part of their plan, Arthur prepares for battle while Merlin worries it will be the end of his king.
The Story: Gillen masterfully juggles a lot of different storylines in this issue and each one is given great development that not only kept me engaged in each story, but intrigued about what will happen next. The dialogue continues to be one of my favorite aspects of the series and each of the characters is given some great moments to shine in the issue
The Art: Dan Mora delivers some incredible art throughout the issue. From the quiet character moments to the giant action beats, Mora delivers visual spectacle every time.
