The Rundown: Bridgette and company must face a brand new world as an ancient evil grows in power.
Duncan and Bridgette find themselves sneaking through the woods on their way back to the armory. With the world changing and shifting around them, an attack by murderous fairies sends them on the run with Rose running interference. After narrowly escaping, the group finds themselves back at the home with little to know idea what their next move should be.
At the same time, Arthur is exacting his mission on the people of England and filling the streets with Saxon blood. As Bridgette contemplates her life work in shambles, Merlin shows the king a vision of a powerful rival who is invading the island.
The Story: A consistently entertaining and compelling story from Kieron Gillen. The plot is tense, bold and engaging. Taking the time to have Bridgette deal with the shattering of her mission is a great dramatic touch that makes the character more interesting. The expansive nature of the story continues to keep me riveted and entertained as I wait for the next shoe to drop and the next adventure to begin.
The Art: Dan Mora has a brilliant and engaging style to the art in this issue. Each page is filled with beautifully detailed art both in the characters and the lush world being created around them.
