The Rundown: As Arthur gets closer to purging Britain, Duncan will learn a harsh truth about his past.
With Rose holding down the fort at the church, Duncan and Gran find Arthur and his demonic knight gathered around the one destined to bring him the grail he needs to purge the country. When Gran misses her shot, it’s a race against the forces of evil to get to the home of the Fisher King before Galahad.
When they arrive, Duncan and Rose discover that the Fisher King has a connection to Gran. A connection that not only complicates the mission, but will expose Duncan to some dark truths about how he was raised and his real destiny.
The Story: Once and Future continues to be a fascinating, action-packed adventure with characters that are engaging. Kieron Gillen draws you in with a well paced and moving plot while the mysteries and dialogue continue to delight. All of the characters are amazing and Gran continues to be a dynamic and fun character to experience. This is great storytelling and that comes through when you finish the issue and want more.
The Art: Dan Mora’s art is beautifully detailed in both the characters and background details. Mora has a cinematic eye when it comes to framing a scene visually and every page is filled with energy.
