The Rundown: Duncan and his Grandmother are racing towards the unknown as the quest continues to resurrect the dead king.
Duncan still cannot believe what his grandmother is telling him as they race through Glastonbury. Still unable to rectify the events he is a part of, he drills his grandmother for details. At the same time, the forces trying to resurrect the dead king get closer to their goal.
As they make their way to a building in the middle of nowhere, Duncan and his gran arm themselves for what comes next as make their way past the floating ladies of the lake and down into an underground chamber. When they finally make their way to the hidden chamber, they are too late to stop the resurrection and Gran reveals that the woman leading them not only has a connection to her, but she has taken a deadly and devastating step that could doom the world.
The Story: The action happens fast in this issue. Kieron Gillen keeps the pace and suspense on high as the story unfolds. I love the pace and dialogue in this issue and the matter of fact attitude of Gran. She is becoming an interesting and fun character who keeps the story moving and engaging. I want to know more about her and her history and the way the story is structured, Gillen has plenty of time to lay those details out.
The Art: Dan Mora’s art is amazing. Everything from the characters to the brutal finale look great. I love the visual style of this story and can’t wait to see where it goes next.
